Monday december 3rd

 

 For the first day we started to make the website. we learned from mrs. Janson how to make a web page and we set one up in class. then we set up the timeline page but didnt do the timeling. we we emailed the main webpage and timeline page to mrs. janson and mrs. tucker.

 

For homework tonight we had to make the timeline. we had everything day by day up to december 16th when the project was due. then we wrote in our journal for that day. we write two paragraphs in our journal everyday and tell in detail about what we did that day.

 

tuesday december 4th

 

today we got a lot of help on our website from what we had done before. we had created one but miss tucker helped us fix it up to the way it was supposed to be. we learned how to make the timeline correctly and do everything on it day by day. we mostly added to the website during class when we could get help on it. then we went over the corrected timeling so that we were clear on what we are doing for the next two weeks.

 

tonight i did some research on just basic bifidobacteria. i found things such as its class, phylum and kingdom. i also did some research on history of bifidobacteria as well as where it is found and what the fuctions of the bacteria are.

 

Wednesday december 5th

 

today in class we learned how to search to make sure that websites were ok to be used. mrs janson showed us how to chech websites and see where they came from and who created them so that we could see if they were legitment. she showed us some examples of websites that were good sources as well as some websites that are not good sources. we saw some that were clearly wrong and we could tell by reading them. she showed us some others that looked very real and good but then we looked further into them and saw that they were made by someone in the fifth grade or some other non reliable source.

 

i did some more research on the history of bifidobacteria as well as some other research. i find out that it was gram positve. i also found out some interesting history about the bacteria. i found who the first person to isolate bifidobacteria was and how he did it. i mostly just used wikipedia because i have not been able to check the library website for the list of websites that we were given.

 

thursday december 6th

 

i had trouble doing very much work today becasue i was at a basketball tournament all day. because of this i wasnt able to work on the website during class at all and i didnt get home until late so i couldnt work on it much at home either. i did however find some time to do some research on some history and some other intersting things about bifidobacteria.

 

i found some research mostly using just wikipedia. i hope to do some more reasearch using more different website such as gale group and encyclopedia britannica becasue i think i have found most of the stuff on bifidobacteria that i need an wikipedia. i hope to do more of that over the weekend and use a variety of differnet websites.

 

friday december 7th

 

i did some more researching today. ive really gotten alot better over the course of making the website at being able to find reasearch. now i am alot better at finding things on the internet that i need to find, and i am also able to be sure now that it is real information and it is something good that i can use. this is very helpful to me in making the project but also in many other things in life. 

 

i hope to finish up the research portion of the project fairly soon and just work on making the website interesting and looking good. some things like quizzes and games would be good for that and i hope to do that soon. 

 

saturday december 8th

 

i didnt get much of a chance to do work today becasue of the second part of the tournament. i hope to catch back up on that tomorrow and next week. 

 

the website is looking really good though. it has lots of good information on it and it is also shaping up to be somehting that is entertaining to read and use.  

 

monday december 10th

 

today i did some more research on bifidobacteria. i started using more sources other than just wikipedia and the free web. i used britannica online and and gale group. they were very helpful and i got some new information off of them that i didnt get before. i got these sights from the library website.

 

today i also learned how to sight sources properly using the correct format. soon i hope to do more work on the actual website its self and not just get information. so far i have mostly just been getting research instead of building the actual website. i also plan to get back on pace with the timeline. i havent been doing that much i have just been doing research on my own. i need to get back to following the timeline better.

 

tuesday december 11th

 

today i did some more research on bifidobacteria. a found alot of good things. i really found alot of interesting information on how bifidobacteria is good for you. i found alot of information about how it helps in your digestive system as well as in other ways just to keep you healthy. that was interesting to me because before this project i was under the impression that all bacteria was bad for you and that it made you sick. it was interesting to see how it could be healthy for you.

 

i also used a variety of different websites that i got from the library website. i mostly used gale group and encyclopedia britannica. both of these had alot of interesting stuff and were very useful.

 

wednesday december 12th

 

now we have most of the reasearch on bifidobacteria that we need. we mostly just need to add some things on to the website such as pictures and fun games or quizzes for people to do so that they could have something fun to do when they are looking for research. that deffinentaly would have helped me in finding reasearch as well as being very helpful in trying to learn the material on the site.

 

 the website is coming along very nicely. it is looking very good and looks like it will be finished in plenty of time. i am very excited to see how it is gowing to turn out.

 

thursday december 13th

 

i was sick today and i didnt get a chance to do very much. i found some pictures on line of bifidobacteria. it doesnt really look like what i thought most bacteria would look like. it is kind tube shaped and does not look harmful. this also shows that not all bacteria is harmful and before this project i thought that it was.

 

most of the work on the website is done. there are still some things that need to be finished up and some things that need to be added.

 

friday december 14th

 

i was sick again today. i hope that this does not hurt me in preventing me from doing something that the teacher might have reminded us of or explained to us in class today.

 

we just need to add some finishing touches on to the website over the weekend. it is looking very good but we also need to make sure that we are able to present it on monday. i am excited about it being nearly finished and cant wait to see it when it is done.

 

sunday december 16th

 

i got on today to finish up my journal and finish the project but i didnt check the assignment calender until after five. when i did check it i realized that the website was supposed to be finished at five and i was not done yet. i am just no finishing and i am a couple of hours late. i hope that this does not hurt me too much.

 

i am excited that the website is done and it looks very good. i am ready and excited to present it tomorrow.
